Content? We don't need no stinkin' content.

I try not to link too much on this blog, and I especially don't like doin' two in a row, but this article over on Lancaster City Bike Polo just struck a chord.

I like playing goalie, but I hate getting stuck there. It's just not fun when no-one else will cover it! In my perfect world, every goal from either side should facilitate a goalie change - at least in pick up. Obviously it's different if you have a perma-goalie, or you need your best offensive player pluggin' away at all times during a tournament.

  1. I think if the momentum of the game is still on the other side of the court and if someone is tapping out (from your team) the goalie should come out and replace the person tapping and they should go to the goal. Of course it's all dependent on the situation. This would keep the pressure on the other team though.

  2. Hey brett i had a question. How did you get your eighthinch crank arms to fit with your resist sproket I have the same things and i took em to the bike shop and the said they didnt fit because of the spindle or something If you could please help that would be great.

  3. the eighthinch cranks come with the matching 19mm 48t spindle and bottom bracket, same as the resist sprocket insert. other than just some elbow grease, it installed easily. you might be missing the splined insert, or the people at your shop are silly.

  4. what is the splined insert does the sproket or the crank arms not come with it?

  5. The insert should come with the sprocket. Check out this image (http://www.flickr.com/photos/notquitealibrarian/5867038247/), I've circled the insert. If it didn't come with it, you might need to holler at whoever sold you the sprocket, 'cus it should have. With the insert in, it should slide right over the bottom bracket spindle, and then the crank arm should slide right over that.

  6. i do have the insert but the sproket doesnt slide onto the spindle for more than a centimeter then it stops completeley. Its like the spindles dont match up perfectly but your bike which has the same peices as mine do....

  8. Sorry man, dunno what to tell ya. It should work, no reason for it not to. I'm guessing you have the eighth inch bottom bracket as well, since it comes with the cranks and all.

You might try calling eighth inch or volume, it's possible one of their parts is just defective. I've heard some people complain about the resist sprocket on trick track, and mine seems a bit loose in spite of all my efforts to tighten it down - I think it's possible one of the teeth has ground down so I have a little play in the cranks.

    Good luck!

  9. Dunno if you'll even see this, but I got a new sprocket a bit back (S&M) and had the same problem you're having. It definitely SHOULD have fit on no problem, but wouldn't. I eventually popped the sprocket in the oven at 200 for about 20 minutes, which caused the sprocket to expand just enough for it to fit over the spindle, although still not without a good amount of effort. Definitely have to do this quickly though, as it'll shrink back to normal once it cools down again.

With any luck, you got it to work already, but I guess the more you know...
