A few days past breaking news, but still noteworthy:

The final stretch of the Southern Bike Lane has been painted! I have yet to see the bike stencil or any signs, but the physical line is definitely there.

That little section of Southern from Goodlett to Perkins was always a bit nerve-wracking, seeing as how the speed limit was 45. It's not unheard of to see cars zooming along at 55. While a little white line doesn't make cyclists invincible, it does at least discourage cars from forcing you into the gutter and draws attention to the fact that there may, indeed, be bicycles present.

And hey, at least now when you say you're on the Memphis Bike Lane, people will have to say, "Which one?"
